Nose: First whiffs off udge then caramelized apples followed by gentle peat smoke, olive oil and pine trees.
Mouth: Fudge, some burned sugar and a little peat. Then liquorice, salt, tea, sherry, treacle and fish sauce. After some time the peaty notes become more obvious: soot, charcoal and woody notes.
Finish: Salted liquorice and bay leaf. Middlelong.
Comment: This whisky is a perfect example of a Campbeltown whisky.
