The Speyside Linkwood distillery was built in 1825. Or rather, the oldest Linkwood Distillery was founded then. It was demolished in 1872 and 2 years later there was a brand new Linkwood Distillery. Next to the second, a new Linkwood distillery opened its doors in 1971, so the third Linkwood distillery. The second closed in 1985, but then occasionally opened again part-time.
Linkwood Distillery mainly works for the blends industry, in particular Johnnie Walker and White Horse. The own and independent single malt bottlings receive good ratings on average.
