Here you will find our collection of old and rare whiskies. Whiskies that went on cask far back in the the last century, whiskies that matured for an exceptionally long time, whiskies from closed distilleries ... Rare and with collector's value. Unique bottles that you won't find anywhere else. These are bottles for a special occasion or as an investment object. In any case: these are bottles of exceptional value in every respect!
In 1972, a new Glendullan distillery was built next to the old one from 1898. The spirit from both distilleries was mixed before being vatted until the old one closed in 1985. This Rare Malts bottle is an old/new mixed single malt whisky. (26 years, 56.6%
This is a real Rare Malts edition: a 25-year-old single malt whisky from the Glenlochy Distillery, which closed in 1983. Apart from the high ratings, not much is left of their whisky legacy, which is not too large. But there is this bottle! (62.2%)
In 1985, Highland distillery Glenury Royal closed permanently. Before and after, relatively few bottlings of their single malt whisky were released, but they almost always scored very high. This also applies to this 29-year-old Rare Malts edition. (57%)
Next to Highland distillery Glen Ord there is a malting house for regional barley. This supplies the malt from which the Glen Ord single malt whisky is distilled. In 1997, a 23-year-old bottling of that whisky appeared in the Rare Malts Selection. (59.8%)
The name Port Ellen still makes many whisky hearts jump. The single malt whisky from the Islay distillery was (and is) highly rated. In 1983, Port Ellen closed to continue as a malt house. This Rare Malts-edition is 22 years old, at 60.5% cask strength.
Royal Brackla played a major role in the 'invention' of blended whisky, but as a producer of single malt whisky, it has always remained somewhat in the background. This 20-year-old Rare Malts bottling from 1998 puts the Highlander in the spotlight. 59.8%
The roots of what was called Hillside Distillery from 1965 to 1980 go back to 1898. After 1989, the distillery continued as Glen Esk. It is now closed. This is your chance to get yourself a Hillside single malt whisky! (vintage 1971, 25 years, 62%)
New bottlings of Glen Albyn single malt whisky, the distillery of which closed in 1983, will hardly be released anymore. That's why this 26-year-old Rare Malts bottling from 2002 is worth attention alone. A Highlander with a character of its own. (54.8%)
A 22-year-old, high-scoring Dailuaine single malt whisky from 1973, bottled in 1996 as a Rare Malts edition for the American market. Despite twenty years of aging in wood, it has retained much of its strength, with an astonishing cask strength of 60.92%.
From the 1990s to 2017, producer Diageo presented whiskies from their distilleries that hardly released bottlings or were already closed. This is a 22-year-old Craigellachie single malt with vintage 1973. The distillery released no bottlings itself then.
The name Coleburn, in relation to single malt whisky, no longer means much to many people. The Speyside Distillery closed in 1985 and there have never appeared many bottlings of their whisky. That makes this 21-year-old Rare Malts edition unique! (59.4%)
This Clynelish single malt whisky scores almost 91 points in Whiskybase. With its 1974 vintage and 23 years of maturation, it is a special bottling, released in 1998 as a Rare Malts Selection. It is hard to find anymore, but you can get it from us! 59.1%
You can find distillery bottlings of Cardhu single malt whisky in most liquor stores, but bottlings like this... This is a real collector's item: the Speysider was vatted in 1973. After 27 years of maturation, it was bottled at a cask strength of 60.2%.
And yet another special WhiskySponge bottling: it is a 34-year-old Bladnoch single malt whisky that matured in a bourbon cask from which the bottler had already extracted 50 bottles in 2023. This created more room for flavour-inducing reactions. (55.1%)
We didn't have many World Whiskies from bottler Cadenhead's in the shop yet, so pay attention! This is a whisky from America, a bourbon from Heaven Hill Distilleries. The bourbon matured for no less than 23 years in an American oak barrel. (54.5% ABV)
To celebrate its 35th anniversary, the Italian quality bottler Samaroli released this almost 30-year-old, sherry-matured Banff single malt whisky in 2003. Banff whisky is already a collector's item, but this Samaroli edition is extra special! (45% ABV)
A bottling under the Cooper's Choice brand from 2007. So, quite an old bottle. It is a Macallan single malt whisky that matured for 13 years and was bottled at 46% ABV. If you want to try a vintage 1993 Macallan, this is your chance!
Like all Glenfarclas The Family Casks bottlings, this one also belongs to the top of sherried single malt whisky. It matured for about 33 years in a select sherry cask, from which the malt was bottled in 602 bottles in 2022 at a cask strength of 52.3%.
The label of this WhiskySponge bottling may look very funny, but the content is serious: this is a 31-year-old Auchentoshan single malt whisky, packed with flavour and rich aromas, a top edition of this bourbon matured Lowlander! (53.6%)
This unique Macallan single malt whisky can't actually be found in liquor stores, but it can be found with us! It is a bottling from a cask owned by and filled at the distillery by a well-known Dutch whisky writer. The whisky matured for 12 years. (46%)
Take a cask of The Balvenie single malt whisky, add a teaspoon of Glenfiddich malt, and behold: a cask of Burnside blended malt! After 28 (!) years of maturation, the Taiwanese bottler Whisky Age extracted 224 bottles from that bourbon cask at 48% ABV.
There is no Burnside distillery, so what's behind that name? Well, simply, it's Balvenie single malt whisky with a teaspoon of Glenfiddich mixed in. This bourbon-aged Burnside is certainly not ordinary at 28 years old and a Whiskybase-score of 90! (47.8%)
Have you never tasted a single malt whisky from the Kininvie distillery? Then Taiwanese Whisky AGE offers you this unique opportunity! This Aldunie blended malt is nothing more than a 25-year-old Kininvie with a spoonful of other malt mixed in. (53.7%)
Previous editions of this single malt whisky have been described as incredibly intense, complex, ripe and full. And this edition, the Black Art 11.1, is no less than 24 years old. In that time, this special malt matured in various cask types. (44.2%)
