200,000 bottles of Ballantine’s Finest are sold per day. This makes it one of the largest blended whisky brands in the world. George Ballantine began blending Scottish malt and grain whisky in the 19th century. In 1910 this led to the 'invention' of Ballantine’s Finest, which is still the best-known blend of Ballantine's, and which is still made according to the same recipe. All blends from this company are matured on bourbon barrels. They have a soft taste and a touch of Islay smoke.
