Quite confusing, but the Linlithgow distillery that was founded in the Lowlands in 1798 is also known as the Saint Magdalene distillery. Until the distillery closed in 1983 (now demolished) only a handful distillery bottlings appeared. All but one as St Magdalene. Independent bottlings appear under both names. Or rather, appeared. Since 2015, almost no Linlithgow / St Magdalene bottling has been released. Under whatever name, the single malt whisky bottlings received a very high score on average.
