The Speyside Distillery is hand-built by a man named George Christie. In the Speyside of course. He needed 25 years for that. In 1990 the first Speyside single malt whisky came out. Christie wants to emphasize quality in whisky production. From 2014, the Speyside Distillery whisky brand name is 'SPEY'. Independent bottlings are still released under the Speyside Distillery brand.
