Blanton’s bourbon whiskey is produced by Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, based on Blanton's recipe . In 1984, Blanton’s was the 'inventor' of the Single Barrel Bourbon. This is the same concept as the single cask bottlings with malt whisky: the whisky is bottled per cask. Most Blanton’s bottlings are still single barrel. The Straight from the bottle series is cask strength, and may therefore not be sold within the US.
