Dimple is the brand name of a blended whisky composed around 1890 by the Haig family in Scotland. With Dimple they wanted to create a blend in which the various used whiskies would be in balance with each other. The name Dimple comes from the characteristic shape of the bottle with the three dimples. This was a special design to protect the bottles against breakage in times when they were still being transported on unpaved roads in horse carts.
