In 2002, the Bavarian Lantenhammer graindistillery, founded in 1928, released its first single malt whisky, under the SLYRS brand. in 2007 a special whisky distillery, the SLYRS Distillery, was built in Neuhaus at the Schliersee and in 2010 the first whisky bottling was released from that new plant.
