Weight of your parcel

Standard bottles weigh around 1.3 kilograms. You should add the weight of the box and packaging to calculate the total weight of your parcel. Packaging is around 300 grams per bottle. Most original bottlings and bottles like Signatory Vintage Cask Strength Collection, weigh more than 1.3 kilograms. We determine the weight per bottle so that the delivery charges adapt to your order. For countries within the European Union countries, the shipping rates are fixed up to 23 kilograms.

The shipping rates for shipments within the European Union are fixed for parcels up to 23 kilograms. PostNL handles our parcels within the European Union. If you have a strong preference or want express delivery, don't hesitate to contact us at [email protected].

Shipping rates Switzerland and Norway

Outside of the European Union shipping rates are calculated based on the weight of your whisky's plus packaging. Standard bottles weigh around 1.3 kilograms. You should add the weight of the box and packaging to calculate to total weight of your parcel. This is around 300 grams per bottle. Shipping rates United Kingdom

We are happy to announce that shipments to the UK are possible again. Included in the bottle price is 20% UK VAT. UK excise duty and import fees are included in the shipping fee, so there are no additional costs at the border or your front door. Parcels will be shipped with DHL Express.

Shipping rates rest of the world

We ship to the following countries outside of the European Union: Australia, Hong Kong, Israel, Japan, New-Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and the United Arab Emirates.

Currently we only offer DHL Express for shipments to countries outside of the European Union. We always have to send the original invoices with the parcel. Your order will probably be subject to local sales taxes and duties. Whiskybase has no control over these charges, so you should contact your local customs office for further information.

Hold for later shipping

This option enables you to combine multiple orders into one parcel to save on shipping costs. You can find an overview of your purchased bottles in your personal Whiskybase Shop account.

Whenever you are ready to have your bottles shipped, send an email to [email protected] and we will create a shipping quote for you once we know the weight of your parcel.

This service is free and you will only pay for the actual shipping costs.

Duty / customs / VAT

For all deliveries outside of the EU, NL VAT will not be charged.
In some cases your order will be subject to local sales taxes and duties upon arrival in your chosen country, which are levied at the time the package clears customs.

All additional charges (duty, VAT or import fees) are the responsibility of the recipient. As customs policies vary widely from country to country, Whiskybase Shop has no control over these charges. You should contact your local customs office for further information.

In case of a refusal to pay the local import duties and taxes will result in the goods either being: destroyed by customs; or goods being returned to sender at the cost of the consignee (costs will be deducted from any refund owed). If your order is being held by your local customs office, you will be able to determine this from the information viewable through the tracking process.
