Started in the 19th century as a liquor and olive oil importer under the name A. Dewar Rattray, this company is now a major bottler of single malt whisky under the name A. D. Rattray. This company, based in the Scottish Lowlands, has a 'Whisky Experience and Shop' there. The firm has already released hundreds of bottlings, developed its own whisky, and now has a permit to set up a distillery in Glasgow.
For about 40 years, until 1928, there was a Stronachie Distillery. A.D. Rattray wanted to recreate the taste of the single malt whisky based on a bottle from 1904. This new Stronachie, of which this bottle is one, was distilled by Benrinnes. (12y, 43%)
