The first bottlings of this Yorkshire bottler were released in 2015. Claxton carefully chooses the casks for their independent bottling. And only when the whisky has matured long enough for a perfect balance between the influence of the cask and the spirit, it will be bottled. Of course the whisky is not cold-filtered or colored.
In addition to the good quality of their bottlings, mostly single cask malts, the family company Claxton’s also stands out with the special shape of their bottles. In 2020 Claxton's released the Exploration Series which is bottled in standard bottles.
No longer in the well-known angular bottles, the new Claxton's series, but in a standard bottle. Like this Islay blended malt whisky in the Exploration Series. This blend of Islay single malt whiskies matured for 8 years in a refill sherry butt. (50%)
