Ian Macleod Distillers Ltd. has been active in bottling whisky since 1957. Based in Broxburn in Scotland, the company acquired a good reputation in the field of blended whiskies and single malt bottlings. They own more than 10 brands, including well-known ones such as Chieftain's and Smokehead. And the company owns the Glengoyne Distillery.
In 2018 bottler Ian Macleod released this 10 year old Ledaig single malt whisky. Matured in special French wine casks. Together with Ledaig's earthy, peaty profile, the cask influence resulted in a special flavor combination. Taste it for yourself! (46%)

Quite a special Bruichladdich edition, this 2016 bottling by Ian Macleod. The single malt whisky was bottled long before the distillery became known. It matured for 25 years in 2 bourbon hogsheads and was bottled at a cask strength of 48.1%. Interested?
Not very well known, the Glen Elgin single malt whisky. Perhaps this Chieftain’s bottling from Ian Macleod is a good bottle for a further introduction to this Speysider. It is a quite young Glen Elgin, aged in a bourbon cask and bottled at 46%.
Still vatted before the 2002 closure of the Speyside distillery BenRiach (which reopened in 2004). In 2019, Ian Macleod bottled this single malt whisky at an age of 21 after it was finished in rum casks. So, quite a special bottle, you could say! (46%)
The bottlings of single malt whisky distillery Macduff come under the name Glen Deveron. Independent bottlings such as this one from Ian Macleod are called Macduff. And this is quite a special Macduff, with its 27 years of maturation in a sherry cask.
From the bourbon cask on which this Auchentoshan single malt whisky aged for 25 years, Ian Macleod bottled 182 bottles at cask strength (50.5%). The bottles are released in the Dun Bheagan series. Lowlander Auchentoshan is known for triple distillation.
