Malts of Scotland (MoS) was founded in 2005 by Thomas Ewers in Paderborn, Germany. The bottler matures new make spirit from Scottish distilleries in its own carefully selected casks in more than 80 warehouses in Scotland. Their bottlings are very popular.
You don't come across many new Littlemill bottlings these days. But older bottlings like this one from Malts of Scotland are worth mentioning. The Littlemill single malt matured in a sherry cask for over 25 years, from 1988 to 2013. (52.1% ABV)
The longer the distillery was closed, the fewer Littlemill bottlings hit the market. We now have a bottle of a Malts of Scotland bottling from 2010. With its 20 years of aging in a bourbon cask, it is really something for the Littlemill enthusiast! 53.9%
Malts of Scotland bottled this highly regarded Littlemill single malt in 2015 specifically for a German flying club. The whisky from the Lowland distillery, which closed in 1996, matured for about 25 years in a bourbon cask and was bottled at 50.2% ABV.
Malts of Scotland, a respected bottler, released this approximately 12-year-old Mannochmore single malt whisky in 2022. Not complex, but balanced and intense, with beautifully varied fruit notes, honey, vanilla, blossom, toffee, and ginger. (55.5%)
