Meadowside Blending from Glasgow releases its own blended whisky with the 'Royal Thistle', but the company is best known for its single cask malt whisky bottlings under the label 'The Maltman'. With the 21-year-old Glen Grant from that series, they won gold at the International Spirits Challenge of 2017. Until now, the company has released over five hundred bottlings.
Under the well-known The Maltman label, Meadowside Blending releases single cask bottlings. We now have a Caol Ila bottling from them in the shop. The Islay single malt whisky matured for 11 years in a fino sherry cask that yielded 493 bottles at 54.4%.
For this The Granary, Meadowside Blending combined 1 sherry butt of Cambus and 4 bourbon casks of North British single grain whisky. The resulting blended grain whisky is 30 years old. Full and creamy, toffee, crême brulée are just a few notes. (47.3%)
