Murray McDavid approaches the bottling of single malt whisky differently from most other bottlers. The company goes back to the way top wines find their way to the bottle. So no single cask bottling, but bottling of whisky from the same batch that has matured in different, carefully selected casks. It is no coincidence that these are often former wine casks.
The ripening in the casks selected by Murray McDavid takes place at the Coleburn Distillery in the Speyside.
This single malt whisky from Speyside distillery Benrinnes appeared in Murray McDavid's Cask Craft series. Anyone who knows the bottler a little will not be surprised that the whisky is finished in a select cask: a Justino's Madeira barrique. (44.5%)
