The Thompson Bros: Phil and Simon Thompson stood at the cradle of the whisky bar of Dornoch Castle Hotel, Scotland, one of the most famous whisky bars in the world. In 2016, their dream of starting a distillery became reality. Since then, they have been building out their brand by selecting excellent whiskies and releasing these under their own label, while laying down casks of their own spirit for further maturation. We are proud to be the Dutch importer for this great company!
You rarely come across the single malt from Speyside distillery Kininvie. Almost all of their whisky goes into blends. But occasionally, a single malt appears containing a drop of another malt. That is an Aldunie blended malt. (27y, bourbon-aged, 52.5%)
Thompson Bros. bottled this Allt-á-Bhainne in 2024 after it had matured for 28 years, the last four of which were spent in a select Oloroso cask. A complex single malt with notes of dates, tobacco, grapefruit, demerara sugar, and rye bread. (49.1% ABV)
This is the first Alness blended malt whisky ever released! A unique product from Thompson Bros, bottled in 2026. It is a marriage of a heavily peated Dalmore with an elegant Teaninich single malt. The malts matured in bourbon casks. (12y, 50.0% ABV)
Glen Garioch is one of those not-so-well-known single malts that nevertheless always manages to attract the attention of whisky connoisseurs. Thompson Bros. has released this 27-year-old bottling of the whisky, which matured in a fino sherry cask. (49.3%)
The single malt whisky from Highland distillery Glen Garioch has a character of its own, a character that you will certainly recognize in this Thompson Brothers bottling: apple, pear, plum and kiwi, but also notes like butter, toast and autumn leaf. 48.5%
A creamy dram with notes of citrus, sultanas, coconut, toasted grain, granola, mint and ginger. These notes and more make up the flavour palette of this 18-year-old, bourbon-matured Glentauchers single malt whisky, bottled by Thompson Bros at 52.4%.
Thompson Bros. presents a fine single grain whisky here, also at a fine price. It is a 33-year-old, bourbon-aged North British. Thanks to years of 'angel's share', the grain came out of the cask at only 40.1%. It's a very pleasant drinkable dram!
This North Highland blended malt is a tribute from Thompson Bros to the whisky of the Northern Highlands. It is an 8-year-old blend of Glen Ord and Clynelish single malts, with notes such as orchard fruit, heather honey, and coastal minerality. (44.9%)
It doesn't matter that the Speyside distillery has to remain a secret: the fact that the Thompson Brothers selected this single malt whisky gives us enough confidence. An excellent daily dram, matured for 11 years in 2 refill sherry casks. (48.5%)
Usually, Balvenie single malt to which a teaspoon of other malt has been added is called 'Burnside' (blended malt). Thompson Bros. presents a teaspooned Balvenie that matured in bourbon for 35 years, scores over 90 points, and calls it 'Side-burn'. (51%)
For a reasonable price, you can get a very pleasantly drinkable dram with this blended Scotch whisky. This blend by Thompson Bros, of which the youngest whisky is 6 years old, is a balanced sherried one and sometimes reminds you of old-skool blends. (46%)
Bottled in 2024 by Thompson Bros., this 10-year-old Tullibardine single malt whisky matured entirely in red wine casks. Ten years is long enough to soften the red wine tannins and bring the wine influence into balance with the whisky. (48.5% ABV)
