You will not often find a distillery bottling from Auchroisk. This distillery was set up in 1972 at Rothes in the Speyside to produce malt whisky for blends, and for 'The Singleton of Auchroisk' by Ruchill & Ross. You will also encounter the single-malt whisky from Auchroisk in bottles from independent bottlers such as Cadenhead and Douglas Laing.
Chances are you have never heard of Auchroisk single malt whisky. The Speyside distillery hardly releases own bottlings. This bottling by Gordon & MacPhail can be a nice introduction. Aged 13 years on bourbon and bottled at 57.6%.
Cadenhead bottled already quite some Auchroisk single malt. And this is another nice one, in the Small Batch series, this 12-year-old Auchroisk matured on bourbon. 534 bottles, bottled at cask strength (55.3%). Worth considering, this Speyside whisky.
You will rarely come across a bottling of the Auchroisk Distillery itself. For this Speyside single malt whisky we have to wait for bottlings like this one by Brachadair. The Auchroisk matured for 8 years on an Oloroso sherry cask and was bottled at 59.7%
Auchroisk single malt whisky no longer appears under the The Singleton label (there are not many Auchroisk bottlings anyway). This bottling dates from 2000. It is a 10 year old Auchroisk that matured on sherry casks. (1000 ml bottle)
