Ayrshire is the brand under which in particular the independent bottlers Signatory Vintage and Duncan Taylor release single-malt bottlings from the legendary Lowland distillery Ladyburn. Or better: released, because the stock is running out now: Ladyburn opened in 1965 and closed 10 years later in 1975.
'Rare Ayrshire' says the label, and that is absolutely correct! It is a bottling of single malt whisky from the long-closed Ladyburn Distillery in Ayrshire, Scotland. The spirit went into the cask in 1974 to emerge 36 years later as single malt! (46%)
