The fingers of two hands are more than enough to count the number of Dailuaine's own distillery bottlings. The brand is therefore not very well known, although it is one of the larger single malt whisky distilleries in the Speyside. Dailuaine was built in 1852, and rebuilt in the 1880s. The distillery was the first to have 'pagodas' or cupola ventilators that are now archetypal for 'a Scottish whisky distillery'.
This is the 89th edition of Whisky Blues from bottler Whisky AGE. It's a 15-year-old Dailuaine single malt whisky, matured in a first-fill bourbon cask. The distillery, the first to feature those iconic 'pagodas' (dome fans), dates back to 1852. (56.1%)
Dailuaine has hardly ever released bottlings of their own product, but it is one of the larger distilleries in the Speyside. To get to know this single malt whisky better, this Chapter 7 bottling is very suitable. It aged for 11 years in a bourbon cask.
Dailuaine is a Speyside distillery whose single malt whisky isn't very well-known because most of it disappears in blended whisky. Fortunately, there are bottlings like this Fragrant Drops! This 10-year-old malt is finished in a tequila cask. (58.9% ABV)
