Unique to the single malt whiskey from the Danish Fary Lochan is that they dry their barley malt over a fire of dried nettles. In the summer, founder Jens-Erik Jørgensen and his family collect the necessary nettles themselves. At the end of 2009 Jens-Erik filled the first cask with new make spirit for the Fary Lochan single malt whisky. The distillery is now run by himself, his mother, his sister and his brother.
