Under the Kurayoshi brand, Matsui Shuzo blends Japanese malt whisky with imported Scotch malt. The blend then matures further in Japan and is sometimes finished in different casks. The annual temperature fluctuations on the Sea of Japan side of the country, where this blending takes place, are significant, causing the whisky to mature faster than average.
