The Bruichladdich Distillery on whisky island Islay produces standard, and under the brand name Bruichladdich a non-peated, non-smoky single malt whisky. But under the well-known brand names Port Charlotte and Octomore, the distillery does make peated single malt. Much less known is that Bruichladdich makes a whisky under the name Lochindaal that is in between the two well-known ones in terms of smokiness. Lochindaal is also the loch on which the villages of Port Charlotte and Bruichladdich lie.
The Bruichladdich Distillery on Islay makes an unpeated single malt whisky under its own name. They also produce the heavily peated Port Charlotte and the very heavily peated Octomore. And Lochindaal, which is in between. This one is 10 years old. (63.3%)
Lochindaal is a brand under which Bruichladdich Distillery releases peated single malt whisky. Global Whisky Limited releases a 10-year-old bourbon-aged edition: "...awakens all senses, lively whiffs of smoke with a breath of sea airr," says Auld Goonsy.
