Macallan is undoubtedly the best-known producer of sherryes single malt whisky. The distillery was founded in 1824 in the middle of the Speyside (that the Speyside is part of the Highlands is a reason for Macallan to call itself a Highland distillery). Macallan managed to build a big name in the last century with their sherryed whiskies. So much so that old Macallan bottlings appeared that later turned out to be 'fake'.
Macallan also releases bottlings that aged on bourbon casks. But still the name Macallan is associated with sherryed whisky.

This Rich Cacao appeared in The Harmony Collection by Macallan in 2021 and is inspired by the chocolate creations of a famous pastry chef. Due to the maturation in sherry casks, you will find clear, full cocoa notes in this single malt whisky. (44%)
