In Japan, at the foot of the sacred volcano Ontake lies the Ontake Distillery, where the first spirit flowed from its own designed stills in 2019. The distillery is owned by the Nishi Shuzo Company, known for producing the drink shochu.
In its Episode 0 series, bottler T&T Toyama releases this young single malt, the spirit of which flowed from the custom-designed stills of the Ontake Distillery, active since 2019. The whisky matured for over 3 years in a 1st-fill bourbon cask. (59.3%)
In 2019, the Japanese Ontake distillery distilled its first spirit. This included the spirit that, after maturing in first-fill sherry casks, was bottled as the Second Edition in 2025. A young, yet rich and warm dram with robust fruit notes. (43% ABV)
