Half an hour by boat from the Isle of Skye is the small island of Raasay with its beautiful nature. Since 2017, the island also has a distillery, the Raasay Distillery. They produce traditionally distilled single malt whisky in relatively small quantities. They also make gin, and there is a distillery hotel!
With its Oak Species Maturation Series, Distilleerderij Raasay wants to demonstrate how the type of oak on which the single malt whisky matures affects the taste. This 3-year-old malt matured in Andean oak barrels. Experience how it tastes! (50.7%)
This single malt whisky from the Raasay Distillery on the island of the same name is matured in a special combination of casks: peated rye whisky, American Chinquapin oak, and red Bordeaux. The notes this produced are nicely balanced. Bottled at 46.4%.
