Near Dürkheim in the German Pfalz is the Destillerie Ralf Hauer, producer of the Saillt Mór single malt whisky. Together with a small local brewery, the 'malt beer' is made, from which the spirit comes based on centuries of distilling experience. That spirit is aged in various casks (including virgin oak from the Pfalz) in the salty air of Bad Dürkheim. (Saillt Mór is Celtic for Great Saline).
The sister bottling of the WhiskySchwamm Saillt Mór, Edition No. 73B, this WhiskySponge edition. A German single malt whisky. And this one also matured for 8 years on a 1st fill bourbon cask (a barrel), and it was also bottled at 57.1%. Curious?
