In 1990, Charles Leclef, scion of a miller and brewer family, modernized his uncle's distillery on the Flemish Molenberg. There he distils beer into spirit and thus creates a real Belgian whisky: from brewing to distilling.
The Belgian Stokerij de Molenberg existed for 10 years in 2023. To celebrate this, they released a single malt whisky bottling in a multi-coloured box, the Aurora. The whisky first matured in bourbon and beer casks and was finished in Sauternes casks. 46%
