The Strathmill distillery has been from its origins in 1891 focused on the production of single malt whisky for the blend industry. Of this Speyside distillery, apart from a Flora & Fauna bottle, actually no distillery bottlings are known. There are, however, a few hundred independent bottlings.
Strathmill is located in Keith and has nearby neighbours Strathisla, Glen Keith, Aultmore and Glentauchers distilleries.
This 12-year-old Strathmill single malt whisky in the Flora & Fauna series is one of the very few bottlings of this Speyside distillery. For that reason alone a special bottle. At 43% a pleasant drinkable, uncomplicated Speysider.
If you're looking for a good example of a sherryed Speyside single malt whisky, then this 26-year-old Strathmill bottling from Whisky Import Netherlands is a good choice. The fruity Speyside notes combine well with the influences of the sherry cask.
No single malt whisky that you bump into every day, Strathmill. Gordon & MacPhail released this 13-year-old bottling in 2018, in their series Connoisseurs Choice. A great opportunity to get acquainted with this modest Speysider.
The Strathmill Distillery does not release distillery bottlings. Without independent bottlers we could never taste this single malt whisky. So we can be happy with a bottling like this from The Single Cask. A 12 year old Strathmill at 57.8%.
