The Strathmill distillery has been from its origins in 1891 focused on the production of single malt whisky for the blend industry. Of this Speyside distillery, apart from a Flora & Fauna bottle, actually no distillery bottlings are known. There are, however, a few hundred independent bottlings.
Strathmill is located in Keith and has nearby neighbours Strathisla, Glen Keith, Aultmore and Glentauchers distilleries.
This 12-year-old Strathmill single malt whisky in the Flora & Fauna series is one of the very few bottlings of this Speyside distillery. For that reason alone a special bottle. At 43% a pleasant drinkable, uncomplicated Speysider.
The Strathmill Distillery does not release distillery bottlings. Without independent bottlers we could never taste this single malt whisky. So we can be happy with a bottling like this from The Single Cask. A 12 year old Strathmill at 57.8%.
