What is now one of the best-known blended Scotch whisky brands began in 1830 when William Teacher obtained a whisky sales license for a grocery store in Glasgow. A few years later, Teacher had nearly 20 stores where customers could sample whisky. From 1860, he bottled his own blended Scotch: Teacher's Highland Cream. After his death, his son Adam continued his work. In 1895, he built the Ardmore Distillery to supply malt whisky for the blend. In the years that followed, Teacher's grew into a global brand. That brand and the Ardmore Distillery have now been taken over by the Japanese Suntory.
You can see from the label that this is an old edition of Teacher's Highland Cream. The fact that this blended Scotch whisky comes in a litre bottle also points to that. A collector's item actually, for a super low price! (40%)
