Wild Turkey is the label under which the Wild Turkey Distilling Co. in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, produces straight bourbon whiskey. The origin of the distillery dates back even before 1891. The name Wild Turkey for the whiskey and the distillery dates from 1940. In 2000 the warehouse with 17,000 barrels was destroyed by fire. The distillery is part of the American Whiskey Trail and the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.
Certainly also in view of the price, a good entry-level bourbon, this Wild Turkey 101. Matured in heavily-charred barrels of new white oak and bottled at a robust ABV of 50.5%. A bourbon whiskey to have in your bar as standard.
The Wild Turkey Distilling Co. in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky releases a solid straight bourbon whiskey with this bottling at 58.4%. A bourbon full of fruit, but also with chocolate and spices such as cinnamon. Not an average bourbon in any case.
