The Cask Strength Collection from bottler Signatory Vintage is known for its quality. This single grain whisky from Lowlands distillery North British, 31 years old and matured in an Oloroso cask, appeared in that Collection at the end of 2023, at 56.1%.
One of the series from Signatory Vintage is the Single Grain Collection, a series with very attractively priced bottlings of single grain whisky, not complex, easy to drink. This is a grain from the North British Distillery, 13 years old and at 43%.
In their very affordable 100 Proof series, Signatory Vintage also releases single grain whiskies. Here, for example, is a 15-year-old North British, a Lowlands grain. The whisky matured in first- and second-fill Oloroso and bourbon casks. (57.1%)
Rare! Almost forgotten! Very tasty! To celebrate their 30th birthday, Signatory Vintage released this special bottling: a 36-year-old sherry cask matured North Port / Brechin single malt whisky. At cask strength of course. A collector's item.
Oban is one of Scotland's oldest, still active distilleries. This 14-year-old standard malt shows the basic character of Oban well: juicy orange, malt, salty and a hint of smoke, oily in the mouth. And that for a reasonable price.
A not very complex, flexible young single malt whisky, this Oban Little Bay. He is reminiscent of Oban's 14-year standard bottling, but is sweeter and more malty. A great dram for everyday life, or for an evening with friends. Nothing wrong with it.
Originally available at travel retail, but that was years ago. This Octomore has matured in
Ex Eau-de-Vie Limousin Oak Casks. Giving it a very unique flavour profile. A perfect addition to your collection.
With a phenol rate of 258 ppm, this is a heavily peated Octomore single malt whisky. Fortunately, the peat smoke is not too dominant in this edition, as the alcohol percentage (64%!) is also well integrated in this malt distilled from Islay barley.
In 2008, Islay distillery Bruichladdich introduced Octomore, the heavily peated version of its single malt whisky. This Octomore 10 Years Old First Limited Release is, as the name suggests, the first 10-years-old Octomore, bourbon matured and at 50% ABV.
Bruichladdich's Octomore bottlings are a must for lovers of heavily peated single malt whisky. This 15.1 edition in The Impossible Equation series with its 108.2 ppm, matured for 5 years in re-charred bourbon casks. It is bottled at 59.1% cask strength.
In 2015, edition 06.1 of Bruichladdie’s most heavily peated single malt whisky, Octomore, was released. Distilled from Scottish barley (which yields less alcohol but more flavour), the whisky matured in American oak casks for 5 years. (57.0%)
Are you missing this one in your Octomore collection? Then complete your collection with this Octomore Edition 07.1 with 208ppm smokiness. The single malt from the Bruichladdich Distillery matured for 5 years in American oak casks and is bottled at 59.5%.
In 2015 Bruichladdich released this Octomore single malt whisky. The heavily peated malt was distilled from local barley, barley grown in the Lorgba field at Octomore Farm on Islay. The whisky matured for 5 years in bourbon and Spanish wine casks. (63%)
The label calls the Old Forester the 'first bottled bourbon.' In any case, this Kentucky Straight bourbon whiskey was made as early as 1870. In those days you could also write bourbon whiskey without an 'e'. They still do that with Old Forester. At 43%.
The Old Pulteney 12 single malt whisky is pleasantly light and fruity and easy to drink. Because it matured on both bourbon and sherry casks, perhaps a nice entry whisky. And certainly a whisky to share with guests. Also a nice dram in terms of price!
Another Traveller's Exclusive from Highland distillery Pulteney. This time, a 13-year-old edition, matured in bourbon and sherry casks. The single malt whisky is bottled at 43% in 1 liter bottles. A fine whisky for a great price!
The Old Pulteney 15 is a core bottling of this Highland distillery. And rightly so: it is a beautiful, characterful, yet mild single malt whisky that double-matured on American and Spanish oak. Nose, taste and finish follow each other harmoniously. (46%)
The Maritime Malt says the label of the single malt whisky from the Pulteney Distillery. You can indeed detect a hint of sea air in this 16-year-old Old Pulteney. It matured in American and Spanish oak casks, and you can taste that too. (46%)
This is a core bottling from Highland distillery Old Pulteney. This 18-year-old single malt whisky is clearly finished in quality sherry casks. Full of flavor, smooth and mild, with the sherry notes harmoniously in balance with the Old Pulteney character.
Old Pulteney, once the northernmost distillery on the Scottish mainland, is known for its distillery bottlings of single malt whisky. There are also independent bottlings, such as this one: 19 years old, aged in a sherry cask and bottled at 56.5%.
The Pulteney Distillery in the Highlands releases many bottlings of their Old Pulteney single malt whisky; you don't see independent bottlings very often. But this is one: a 16-year-old malt matured in a bourbon barrel, bottled at 55.3% cask strength.
This Highland single malt whisky matured in both bourbon and Fino sherry casks, a combination that works very well here. Bottled in 2013, the 21-year-old Old Pulteney has a complex palate with well-balanced notes from start to finish. Bottled at 46% ABV.
By putting HP in brackets on the label after 'Orkney 18', bottler Signatory Vintage gives a clear hint from which distillery this single malt whisky comes. The whisky from the Orkneys matured for 18 years in a 1st-fill Oloroso sherry cask. (55.8%)
