Ballechin is the brand under which Highland distillery Edradour releases its peated whiskies. Edradour is one of the smallest Scottish single malt producers. Their standard malt is not peated. In 2003 they released their first whisky based on peated barley malt, under the name Ballechin. For those who are interested: the 'smoke-figure' of Ballechin is 50 PPM (that is at the smoke-level of Ardbeg). Quite hefty.
