George Dickel is the brand for the products of the Cascade Hollow Distillery. When that distillery was built in 1878 in Tullahoma, Tennessee, merchant George Dickel bought shares and later became the owner. Over the years the distillery has been closed and demolished and the whisky has been distilled elsewhere for a while. But in 1958 a new Cascade Hollow Distillery was built nearby where the first distillery was. The whiskies that are produced there now have the name of George Dickel on the label. And another nice fact: George Dickel chose the Scottish spelling for whisky (whisky) and not the American (whiskey).
