White Oak is a brand of the Japanese distillery Eigashima Shuzo. This distillery produces sake and sochu, but since the beginning of this century they have been making whisky in May and June of each year. In 2007 their first single malt was released. Most of their now about one hundred bottlings are released under the White Oak label. White Oak refers to the type of oak native to Japan. But the White Oak whisky matures in casks of other types of oak.
