A Finnish group of friends sat in the sauna and drank a rye whisky. Realizing that no one in Finland made whisky out of rye, they decided to do it themselves. And so, in 2014, the Kyrö Distillery Company started distilling the first batch of new make spirit from 100% malted rye. The first rye and malt & rye whisky bottlings were released in 2017
