Do greedy angels make for better-matured whisky, or does better-matured whisky suffer because of greedy angels? Released in just 112 bottles, a bourbon cask-matured Glen Moray bursting with citrus and tropical fruits.
Nose: Pineapple, sweet ripe pear, apple pie dough, a bit of licorice, minerals, kiwi and mandarins. Malty notes, love hearts and grand marnier.
Taste: Nice thick mouthfeel, initially lots of red fruit, ripe apples, ripe pears later more tropical fruit such as mango and melon. Lemon pie and love hearts.
Finish: Medium long and round with ripe tropical fruit again, generally quite sweet but with a freshness of lime and licorice that bring it back into balance. Ending in an orange liqueur with mint leaves.
