The label does not inform us on this matter, but we assume that 'Organic' refers to organic barley. Furthermore, this 15-year-old Deanston single malt whisky is an excellent example of the honey-flower-malt character of this Highland distillery.
We do not know the age of this Redbreast single pot-still whiskey, but we do know that it finished in 1st fill sherry casks. You can tell this by the typical sherry notes that are well balanced with the pot still notes. It remains a real Irish whiskey.
This Green Spot Château Léoville Barton is a 3x distilled single pot still whiskey according to Irish tradition. It first matured in sherry and bourbon casks, and then matured in Bordeaux casks made of French oak. A fruity Irish whiskey for a nice price.
A special bottling from the Arran Distillery. The single malt whisky matured in a 250 liter sherry cask and was bottled at 55.8% cask strength. A complex dram with sherry notes such as dark chocolate, figs and cherries. With notes of ginger and spices too
The Teeling Distillery sometimes collaborates with others to release special whiskies. This happens, for example, in the Small Batch Collaboration series. In this edition Teeling collaborated with DOT Brew. The blend is finished in porter beer casks. 46%
A young single malt whisky, this Waterford Gaia 2.1. That is no surprise: the first new spirit came out of the stills at the Irish distillery In 2016. But despite its age, this malt is well balanced, after maturing in four different cask types. At 50% ABV
A true Islay single malt whisky, this Kilchoman Sanaig. This release of Islay’s youngest distillery aged on bourbon and was finished on sherry casks. A whisky with body and a nice combination of peat smoke and sherry notes for a great price!
A special The Family Casks bottling from Speyside distillery Glenfarclas. In 1987 the single malt whisky went into the cask, a refill sherry cask, and more than 30 years later in 2018 it was bottled at a cask strength of 46% in an edition of 588 bottles.
Another new batch! This Indian Single Malt Whisky from the Indian distiller Amrut is aged in the warm, Middle Indian climate in oak barrels, and filled at 46%. Also considering the price, this base bottling is a nice introduction to Indian whisky.
The Devil's Punch Bowl bottlings from the Arran Distillery have near-legendary status. This 3rd Punch Bowl edition, from 2014, was just like the others 6,660 bottles in size. Rich, exotic, powerful, lots of chocolate and cocoa are some of the keywords.
In addition to a unique bourbon whiskey, made from corn with wheat instead of rye, other whiskies are also made under the Rebel Yell brand. For example this straight rye whiskey. It was distilled in Indiana and aged for 2 years, and then bottled at 45%.
Port Charlotte has established itself this century among the big names in smoky Islay whiskies. It is one of two heavily peated single malt whiskies from the Bruichladdich distillery. And this is the 10-year-old standard PC, the 2020 release. (50%)
This is the vintage 1989 bottling in the Summer 2021 series, aged in a sherry cask of course. Bottled at 51.9%.
The young Irish Teeling Distillery likes to experiment, using whisky from other distilleries such as Cooley. This blended whisky finished in rum casks is a good example of this. Give the rum tones some time to develop in the glass.
100% peated, as the Indian John Distilleries says about the Paul John Peated single malt whisky. With 55.5% alcohol, this is a solid dram. John Distilleries has won a whole series of international whisky awards with a Peated from this series.
Darach Poitín is Celtic-Irish for oak-aged new make spirit. And that's what this bottling is. A pot-still spirit, triple distilled in the classic Irish way and bourbon-aged, it gives you a good idea of Macaloney's house style. Makes one curious! (46%)
The Canadian Victoria Caledonian Distillery has only been around for a short time. Too short to call all their products whisky. But they would like to introduce us to their products already, and they do so with, for example, this peated single malt spirit
You could call this a Scotch whisky from Canada. Handmade by Scotsman Macaloney according to the Scottish tradition in Scottish stills on Vancouver Island, Canada. This single malt whisky matured on a 1st class bourbon cask, yielding 144 bottles at 46%.
This 15 year old single malt whisky is a standard bottling from the old Bowmore Distillery on whisky island Islay. For most of those 15 years, the peated whisky matured in bourbon casks, the last part, the finish, was in sherry casks. Bottled at 43%.
Although this is a core bottling of the Bowmore Distillery, each edition is slightly different. But the basis is always the same: the single malt whisky matured for 18 years in bourbon and sherry casks, yielding notes of mild peat smoke and tropical fruit
This is the 2021 edition of a 25 year old Laphroaig single malt whisky at cask strength. These bottlings of the firmly peated Islay malt always score very well. Due to their age, the smoky character is somewhat milder. Matured in bourbon casks and at 51.9
Amrut Peated Indian Single Malt Whisky, distilled with peated barley malt, is one of this Indian distiller's standard bottlings. Matured in bourbon barrels. For those who like a smoky malt. At 46%.
The Rotterdam Roger's Whisky Company releases blended malt bottlings under the name Roger's Hidden Treasures. This is the 2015 Campbeltown Blended Malt. Rumor has it that it is a Glen Scotia single malt whisky with a few drops of another malt. (54%)
The Perfect Fifth is a new bottler from Los Angeles that aims to release the highest quality single malt and grain whisky. The first bottling we have from them on our shelves is this 30 year old Aberlour, matured in a first fill bourbon cask. (51.5%)
