Douglas Laing's Timorous Beastie series is about blended Highland malts. Within that series, we now have the 2nd bottling of the subseries The Cheese Cellar, Moscatel finished. This one also does full justice to the famous whisky-cheese combination! (48%)
The Arran Distillery began operations in 1995; the spirit for this first Icons of Arran bottling, The Peacock, came from the still in 1996. It matured for 12 years in 13 bourbon and 7 sherry casks before being released as a single malt whisky in 2009. 46%
This is a very special Millstone bottling: although Zuidam Distillers released its first Dutch Single Malt Whisky in 2007, the spirit for this edition went already in 1996 in the (Oloroso) cask! The whisky matured there for 19 years. (300 bottles, 49.4%)
Zuidam Distillers released its first Dutch Single Malt Whisky in 2007. Dozens of bottlings later, in 2015, there was this 5-year-old Millstone Lightly Peated. As the name suggests, this is a lightly peated single malt. Bottled at 40%.
This is an Ardbeg Ten, the flagship of Islay Distillery Ardbeg, but not a standard edition. The single malt whisky comes packed in a bone! It's a tribute to one of the distillery's most beloved residents, Shortie the Dog! (10y, 46%, released in 2019)
With its 18 years of maturation, in this Longrow, Springbank's peated single malt whisky, you will find only subtle smoke notes. Mineral and maritime notes blend perfectly with the notes of the rum and sherry casks in which the whisky matured. (2016, 46%)
This blended Scotch whisky was created by accident, according to bottler Living Souls. It started with an 18-year-old, heavily peated single malt whisky. A tiny bit of 3-year-old grain was accidentally added, with this surprisingly good result! (46.3%)
Are you missing this one in your Octomore collection? Then complete your collection with this Octomore Edition 07.1 with 208ppm smokiness. The single malt from the Bruichladdich Distillery matured for 5 years in American oak casks and is bottled at 59.5%.
In 2015 Bruichladdich released this Octomore single malt whisky. The heavily peated malt was distilled from local barley, barley grown in the Lorgba field at Octomore Farm on Islay. The whisky matured for 5 years in bourbon and Spanish wine casks. (63%)
For the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival, Glenallachie's master distiller Billy Walker selected the cask for this bottling. The Speyside single malt whisky had matured for 12 years in that bourbon cask and was bottled at a cask strength of 58.9%.
The folks at Adelphi now have their own distillery, and that keeps them busy enough. However, in 2017, they were still highly regarded bottlers, and they released, among other bottlings, this 27-year-old Bowmore single malt whisky. (52%, score 90.3)
'Sweet smoke on the water', a fine description by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society of the 20 year old Bowmore single malt whisky that they released on the occasion of the Fèis Isle Festival 2017. It scores almost 90 points on Whiskybase. (54.2%)
Speyside distillery Longmorn's single malt whisky always scores well, and this release in Signatory's Cask Strength Collection will be no exception. The malt matured for 12 years in a first-fill bourbon barrel and is bottled at 56.9% cask strength.
In 1828, Cameronbridge was the first distillery to make grain whisky, so they now have two centuries of experience! You can taste that in this 100 Proof-bottling from Signatory Vintage. The single grain matured for 12 years in a bourbon cask. (57.1%)
Bottler Murray McDavid is known for its expertise in finishing whisky.
However, due to the excellent quality of the cask in which this Ben Nevis single malt whisky matured for 25 years (a bourbon hogshead), this edition did not require finishing! (53.9%)

The colour of this whisky reveals that it has been finished in a Pedro Ximénez cask. The Dailuaine single malt whisky bottled by Alistair Walker also has clear PX characteristics in the nose and taste, such as dark chocolate and raisins. (16y, 54.4%)
This Girvan bottling from the Alistair Walker Whisky Company was bottled in 2024 at 55.6% in a limited edition of 319 bottles. The single grain whisky from the Lowlands is 27 years old and is finished in a Tawny Port cask. A creamy, fruity grain.
The Whisky Blues distinguishes itself not only by its unique labels but especially by the high quality of its whisky bottlings. This Glendullan single malt whisky is another good example of this! It matured for 22 years in a bourbon cask. (54.1% ABV)
Auchentoshan is one of the few Scottish distillers with a distillation process of more than 2 passes. This gives a milder single malt whisky. The Whisky Blues bottled this Auchentoshan after it had matured for 26 years in a bourbon cask. (47.3% ABV)
We at Whiskybase are proud to be the importer of quality bottlings of Whisky AGE. This Williamson 2010 is one of them. A blended malt? Mwah... Let's say a Laphroaig single malt with a drop of another malt in it. (14 years old, Oloroso-matured, 61%)
If you like rye whisky, then this Founder's Cask Reserve from the Zuidam distillery is definitely worth a try! The whisky, distilled from 100% rye, matured for 10 years in new American oak casks and is bottled in a limited edition at 52.6% cask strength.
Since 2007, Zuidam Distillers has been releasing rye whisky and Dutch single malt whisky bottlings under the Millstone label. A single malt released in 2024 is this 6-year-old dram matured in Oloroso sherry casks. At 46% and for a reasonable price.
