Single malt whisky is a mixture of malt whisky from casks of the same distillery. Malt whisky is made from barley malt and distilled in pot stills, and has matured for at least 3 years in oak barrels. This whisky usually has a for the distillery characteristic flavor. Is considered the classic whisky.
This Bowmore was hand-filled in 2017 by a visitor to the distillery in Bowmore, the capital of Islay. It is a single malt that matured for 17 years in a first-fill sherry cask. An oily sherry bomb with maritime notes and mild peat smoke. (56.9% ABV)

The name suggests otherwise, but Wilson & Morgan is an Italian bottler. In 2004, they bottled this 10-year-old Bruichladdich single malt whisky at an Extra Strength of 50% ABV. The unpeated Islay malt matured in a bourbon cask from 1993 onwards.

Our bottling division Archives presents in the Fishes of Samoa series a perfectly sherried Bruichladdich single malt whisky. The spirit for this bottling went into a first-fill sherry hogshead in 2006 to be bottled 19 years later at a strength of 57.1%.

Gordon & MacPhail filled several of their own ex-bourbon casks with heavily peated spirit from the Bunnahabhain Distillery and aged it there for 10 years. In 2019, they bottled the peated single malt at 43% ABV. Sweet and creamy, with balanced peat smoke.
A nice sherried single malt. Solid with layers of complexity. The influence of the sherry cask isn't overpowering the whisky at all, leaving enough space for the delicate dried fruits and warming spices to come through. Pleasantly quaffable!
A limited edition bottling, that's the 2021 edition of this Bunnahabhain single malt whisky. It is 12 years old and matured in both sherry and bourbon casks. This resulted in a complex palette of dried fruit, vanilla, roasted nuts and maritime notes.
In 2011, bottler The Whisky Talker released this truly special Bunnahabhain single malt in its Mo Òr Collection. The spirit for this whisky flowed out of the still in 1968, into a sherry cask, and was bottled as whisky from it 42 years later! (46%)
