In 2024, the first bottlings of Living Souls appeared. This bottler was founded in Glasgow by three friends with experience in the whisky world. Their aim is to release unique bottlings, including whisky blended by themselves.
Living Souls releases a 7-year-old bottling of the classic Islay single malt whisky Bowmore. This medium-peated malt matured in second-fill bourbon casks and delivers a delightful combination of maritime, smoky, and elegantly sweet notes. (50% ABV)
This Glen Garioch, a Highland single malt with a distinctive character, matured for 19 years in first-fill sherry casks before being bottled by Living Souls at 48% ABV. Expect notes of dried apricot, leather, plums, dark chocolate, and ginger. (48%)
A rich, elegant whisky with notes of dark chocolate, black cherries, and roasted hazelnuts. That's how you could describe this 17-year-old Glenrothes single malt whisky in a nutshell. It matured in first-fill sherry casks and is bottled at 51.5% ABV.
Lagmore is the name bottler Living Souls gives to this blended malt whisky, which is essentially a Ballindalloch single malt whisky with a teaspoon of another single malt mixed in. This 10-year-old Speyside malt matured in first-fill bourbon casks. (48%)
This blended Scotch whisky was created by accident, according to bottler Living Souls. It started with an 18-year-old, heavily peated single malt whisky. A tiny bit of 3-year-old grain was accidentally added, with this surprisingly good result! (46.3%)
In Europe, for example, the name Speyburn might not immediately ring a bell, but in America, it's one of the largest single malt whisky brands. Living Souls is releasing an 18-year-old, (first-fill) bourbon-matured bottling of this Speysider. (46.5%)
This Torabhaig single malt is one of the first independent bottlings from the young Skye-based distillery, bottled by newcomer Living Souls. The whisky matured for 7 years in bourbon casks. Bonfire smoke, orchard fruit, and maritime notes. (51.5% ABV)
Living Souls entered the whisky market in 2024. Until now, they primarily bottled blended Scotch whiskies, but they also release single malts and, like this Williamson, blended malts. The 'teaspooned' Laphroaig matured for 13 years in a bourbon cask. 46%
