Whisky Import Nederland (WIN for short) is a whisky importer founded in 2004 by whisky enthusiasts Jan Kok and Marcel Bol. In 2006 they started to produce their own bottlings under the First Cask label. All of the approximately 100 released WIN bottlings published so far are single cask at cask strength. Kok and Bol fill their bottles only with whiskies that they find interesting themselves. The one time it can be a young Ledaig, the other time a Lochside single grain of 46 years.
With their new brand Toiseach Orra, Whisky Import Nederland shows that there is indeed very good blended whisky, something that not everyone realizes. The youngest whisky in this blend of Scottish single malt whiskies is 20 years old. (45.1%)
In the new Toiseach Orra range of blended whiskies, Whisky Import Nederland presents an 11-year-old blend of Scottish single malt and grain whisky for a reasonable price. The blend matured in an ex-sherry cask and is bottled at 50%.
The Dailuaine distillery has in its long existence hardly released any bottlings of their single malt whisky. Almost all of it is used for the blends. But thanks to bottlings like this you can still taste this malt. 14 years old, bottled at 53.1% strength
The Tomintoul distillery has been releasing bottlings of their single malt whisky since 1974, but there are also interesting third-party bottlings. This one from Whisky Import Nederland for example: 10 years old and matured in a bourbon cask. (56.1%)
