Allt-á-Bhainne is a modern Speyside distillery that was built in 1975 as a malt whisky supplier for the blends of Chivas Regal, Passport and 100 Pipes. The entire production process of Allt-á-Bhainne is in the hands of one process operator. The distillery also does not have its own warehouse. It is therefore not surprising that almost all single malt bottlings from Allt-á-Bhainne come from independent bottlers.
The Allt-á-Bhainne Distillery opened in the last century to provide single malt whisky for blends such as Chivas Regal. Anyone who wants to taste this single malt has to rely on third-party bottlings like this one. Aged in a bourbon cask and 23 years old.
The modern Allt-á-Bhainne Distillery produces malt whisky for blends such as Chivas Regal. Almost all single malt bottlings of their whisky are released by third parties. An excellent example of this is this 26-year-old, bourbon-matured edition. (50.1%)
Signatory Vintage previously released a similar bottling: a 20-year-old Alt-à-Bhainne single malt whisky that matured for 6 months in a 'fresh' sherry cask. That edition had a good score. This new edition was finished on sherry for even 8 months. (52.4%)
