In the mid 19th century, the Scot Arthur Bell provided the great potential of blended whisky. While traveling the country in search of suitable malt whiskies, he did not lose sight of the quality. He went for well-matured malts. In Bell's Original, about 40 different malt and grain whiskies are blended, with Blair Athol at its core, and Dufftown, Glenkinchie and Caol Ila as second important ingredients. Under the care of Diageo, Arthur Bell & Sons is the current owner of this blended whisky brand.
