The Cooley Distillery was founded in 1987 by Irishman John Teeling. It was the first new whisky distillery in Ireland in over 100 years. Cooley was founded with the aim of saving some of the famous old Irish whiskey brands that had been mothballed.The distillery takes its name from its location at the foot of the Cooley Mountains in County Louth. Cooley produces three styles of Irish single malt whiskey, various blends and a small amount of single grain whisky.
The Whiskey Fair is the label under which the annual whisky festival in Limburg, Germany, releases bottlings. This Cooley 2001 is one of the bottles for the 2023 edition. This 21-year-old Irish single malt whisky matured in an Amarone cask. (55.8%)
