Daftmill distillery was founded in 2003 by brothers Francis and Ian Cuthbert. It is one of the smallest distilleries of the Lowlands. They produce all their barley on their own farm. The first new make spirit was produced in 2005. The brothers were in no hurry and waited until they thought the quality of their single malt whisky good enough. The first bottling did not appear until 2018. Daftmill produces about 100 casks per year, so the availability of their whisky is very limited.
Daftmill Distillery has been distilling since 2005, so it has already been active for 20 years! The approach of distilling and only releasing whisky that is mature enough has paid off. Still highly sought after, this summer 2021 release! (46%)
The family distillery Daftmill in the Lowlands releases only a handful of bottlings per year. The single malt for the Winter Batch Release 2026 matured for 13 years in carefully selected 1st-fill bourbon, PX, and sherry casks. And you can taste it! (46%)
