Dingle is the brand of the young, artisan The Dingle Whiskey Distillery, based in, yes, Dingle, Ireland. The first casks of this family business were filled at the end of 2012; three years later, the first cask was bottled. The distillery uses three different pot stills in the production of its whiskey (or 'whiskey' in Ireland), with a focus on quality and not quantity. Dingle has already launched dozens of single malt whiskies on the market. Dingle also produces gin and vodka.
This Dingle 10 Years Old is a standard bottling from Ireland's Dingle distillery. The single malt matured in a combination of three cask types: bourbon (65%), port (30%), and PX (5%). This resulted in a dram with a complex aroma and flavour palette. 46.5%
In the Irish Dingle Distillery's Wheel of the Year series, this is number 6: the Spring Equinox or Cónocht an Earraigh in Irish. The triple-distilled single malt whisky matured in bourbon casks and is finished in Cabernet-Sauvignon casks. (50.5%)
