Ichiro's is a brand of Japan's Chichibu Distillery, founded by Ichiro Akuro, which opened in 2008. Under the Ichiro's brand you will find, for example, the 'World Blended Whisky' series. For these blended whiskies, founder Akuro searched the world for fine malts and grains to blend them with their own Chichibu single malt. Chichibu, including the Ichiro's brand, gets very high scores in the Whiskybase, by the way!
This Ichiro's Malt is a blend of single malt whisky from Chichibu and the now-closed Hanyu with a little Scottish malt. The whiskies matured in different casks but were finished together in a French oak cask that once contained Japanese red wine. (46,5%.)
