Maker’s Mark is the brand of bourbon whiskey produced by the Maker’s Mark Distillery in Loretto, Kentucky. The origin of the distillery dates back to 1805, but the origin of the bourbon as we now know it under this brand dates back to 1953. In that year, Bill Samuels made a bourbon based on a 170-year-old family recipe that he adapted. Maker’s Mark bourbon is still made according to that modified recipe.
