Rebel Yell's whiskies are produced by Lux Row Distillers in Bardstown, Kentucky. The brand's history dates back to 1849. Instead of making bourbon whiskey from the obligatory ingredient corn and rye, as the other distillers did, the founders of Rebel Yell made bourbon from corn and wheat. And to this day that makes the bourbon whiskey from Rebel Yell unique. Other whiskies such as rye whisky are also made under this brand.
The history of Rebel whiskies goes back to 1849. Instead of distilling bourbon whiskey from corn and rye, the founders of Rebel Yell made their bourbon from corn and wheat. That makes this bourbon unique to this day. This edition is bottled at 55% ABV.
About 170 years ago, Rebel Yell already made bourbon whiskey from corn and wheat. And as this bourbon was made at the time, it is still made at Lux Row Distillers today. This Small Batch Reserve is said to have matured extra long. Bottled at 45.3%.
In addition to a unique bourbon whiskey, made from corn with wheat instead of rye, other whiskies are also made under the Rebel Yell brand. For example this straight rye whiskey. It was distilled in Indiana and aged for 2 years, and then bottled at 45%.
